Koun, A Shared Vision of Impact: Valyans Committed to a Circular, Inclusive, and Civic-Minded Economy

Koun Citoyen: A Purpose-Driven Economy for Social Transformation

At Valyans, we believe that sustainable transformation relies on collective action and social innovation. It is in this spirit that, alongside our foundation, the Al Ikram Association – Valyans Foundation, we have been supporting since 2021 the Koun Citoyen program, a high social impact initiative carried out with the support of the United Nations, the European Union, and the National Human Rights Council.

The Koun Upcycling Club: A New Dynamic for Circular Economy

The Koun Upcycling Club, officially launched this year as a natural extension of the program, aims to unite economic stakeholders around an inclusive circular economy. During its inaugural event, a morning session was dedicated to closing the Koun Citoyen program, marking a significant moment of celebration and knowledge transfer.

Concrete Impact on Communities

Over the course of one year, this program has supported young people who dropped out of school as well as single mothers from disadvantaged neighborhoods. At the intersection of training, professional integration, and civic engagement, this journey has helped restore the dignity, confidence, and agency of its beneficiaries.

Celebrating and Recognizing Change Agents

During this ceremony, three thematic ambassadors were designated to embody the program’s values. Three citizen projects, led by the beneficiaries themselves, were also awarded prizes. Each will benefit from seed funding and skills-based mentoring support to continue their impactful work.

“These young people and women demonstrate that civic engagement is a powerful lever for dignity and collective transformation.”

– Yasmine Kerouani, Jury Member

Annual Meetings: Convergence of Economic Stakeholders

In the evening, the Annual Koun Upcycling Club Meetings were launched. This new gathering brought together several committed stakeholders from the business world, including:

  • Mehdi El Boury (Bosch Africa)
  • Nadia Benbahtane (Intelcia)
  • Hana Oukbich (Capgemini)
  • Amal Benzakour (AtlantaSanad)

All united around a shared objective: to bring together professional inclusion, co-creation, and sustainability.

A Transformative Vision

“Koun is a purpose-driven economy. Behind each piece, there is a story, an impact, a second chance.”

– Saadia Slaoui Bennani, President of Valyans and Chairwoman of CGEM’s CSR Commission

A Collective Ambition for the Future

This first Koun Upcycling Club event confirms our collective ambition: to anchor in communities a dynamic that is solidarity-based, sustainable, and profoundly human.
