Women’s Entrepreneurship: Breaking Barriers, Recognizing Performance

At a high-level event co-organized by the CGEM and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) on the theme “Empowering Women in Business: Breaking Barriers and Building Resilience”, Saadia Slaoui Bennani, CEO of Valyans, delivered a widely acclaimed address built around two powerful convictions: leading by example and recognizing achievements.

Emphasizing that professional equality is an ongoing process of active construction, she highlighted the importance of mobilizing two complementary levers to advance the inclusion of women in economic environments:

  • The promotion of accessible role models, rooted in tangible, inspiring realities to encourage genuine and credible female ambition;
  • The spotlighting of real performance and individual career paths as a foundation for legitimacy and recognition within organizations.

With that in mind, she addressed a powerful message to young women in the business world:

“To succeed in business as a young woman, imagine that you are a brain on legs: bet on your performance. Do not make your femininity either a limitation or a false legitimacy.”

This message reflects a demanding mindset, firmly focused on competence, professional rigor, and collective impact—far from symbolic or complacent approaches.

At Valyans, where leadership has been predominantly female for several years, this vision is fully aligned with our commitment to an inclusion rooted in performance, within a professional environment that is stimulating, fair, and excellence-driven.
